Wedding Consultations

Your wedding breakfast deserves a focal point – a splendid cake. So it must be planned in every detail. You can use this plan to ensure that your cake will take pride of place. At a consultation we can fully discuss all your requirements together with cake samples in relaxed surroundings.

When should I book a consultation?

If you’re marrying in peak wedding season (May-September) it’s best to get in touch at least twelve months before your wedding date, sometimes earlier. Outside of peak wedding season six to nine months ahead is usually sufficient. We can sometimes accommodate shorter notice weddings so please get in touch. We only take on a limited amount of weddings each week to be able to dedicate our time to each individual wedding.

We've set a date but not finalised the venue, could we book a consultation?

We can only arrange a consultation once we’re sure of our availability for your wedding date. Until your venue is booked your date could be subject to change depending on the availability of the venue you ultimately choose. It’s best, therefore, to book a consultation with us once you’ve booked your venue.

Do you charge for consultations?

There is no charge for the consultation but the samples are limited to 4 flavours and for 2 people (usually the bride and groom). If you would like to try any additional flavours these are charged at £5 per flavour per couple (payable by bank transfer before the consultation).

When do you hold consultations?

We hold consultations most months all year round, excluding June-August. Please get in touch to find out when the next scheduled date is. The slots get filled very quickly so we may not always have a date available the same month you enquire.

Can I bring along family and friends?

We would usually hold the consultation just for the bride and groom, or 2 people. We can sometimes accommodate one or two extra people around the table but please let us know beforehand (the tasting samples would only be made for 2 people). We understand that sometimes you may want to include an extra family member in the discussions.

Do I need to pay a deposit before or after coming for a consultation?

You can either secure your wedding date with a £100 deposit before a consultation. Or if you prefer to come along for a chat and tasting before making the commitment this can be paid after meeting. Please do bear in mind though that booking a consultation doesn't automatically reserve your wedding date.
